MOVE THE HELL OUT OF COOK COUNTY

Image
Picture source: Chicago Tribune Goodbye cashiers, baggers, stockboys, bartenders,  waitress ', drive-thru and fast food cash register jobs.  On  July 1, 2017 , Cook County will be implementing a Soda Tax. This is not a tax on just soda, but any sugary or artificially flavored beverage. For instance, soda, sports drinks, iced tea, lemonade, juice, any flavored water you can think of will be taxed a penny per ounce. " A penny per ounce, you say? That's nothing! Stop complaining! " If a penny per ounce sounds like practically nothing, let us do the math.       A case of Coca-Cola is 12 cans. Every can is 12 fl oz. Each can will be taxed .12 cents.       .12 cents x 12 = 1.44.        $1.44 will be added onto your bill which does not include any tax that you already pay at the register (roughly 10%). The Soda Tax will be anywhere from 30% to 60% - if you are not purchasing anything bigger than ...

NOT FAKE NEWS: Bernie Sanders and his Wife Being Investigated for Fraud

Image
Alright, people, it has been a long couple of days since I have blogged. I do have a life and a job. But hey, did you hear that Bernie Sanders and his wife are being investigated for fraud? Probably not, and if you have I bet you it was not from the MSM. Well, that is NOT fake news and you will probably never hear it from the MSM because it does not fit their narrative. CBS News reported: "Politico Magazine first reported the Sanders had hired lawyers to defend them in the probe. Sanders' top adviser Jeff Weaver told CBS News the couple has sought legal protection over federal agents' allegations from a January 2016 complaint accusing then-President of Burlington College, Ms. Sanders, of distorting donor levels in a 2010 loan application for $10 million from People's United Bank to purchase 33 acres of land for the institution." Well, well, well. A socialist being investigated for fraud. Does that sound like a surprise? Not to me. The allegations begin w...

BREAKING NEWS: Supreme Court Reinstates Travel Ban

TRUMP WIN: The highest court in the United States reinstates key parts of the travel ban.                    On Monday morning, the court ruled that it would grant petitions for certiorari and grant stay applications in part on President Trump’s travel bans. The Daily Wire reports, "For those unversed in Supreme Court-speak, this means that the Court upheld parts of the travel ban — or at least reserved those questions for later — while leaving some of the lower courts’ hold on enforcement of the travel ban in place." A limited version of the travel ban will, and can be, enforced for the time being.  The court wrote, "An American individual or entity that has a bona fide relationship with a particular person seeking to enter the country as a refugee can legitimately claim concrete hardship if that person is excluded," they continued, "As to these individuals and entities, we do not disturb the injunction. But when it com...

Pro-life Win: Court Dismisses 14 of 15 Charges Against Pro-life Planned Parenthood Investigators

Image
In mid-2015, two Planned Parenthood (PP) investigators, David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt released video-recordings exposing the illegal selling of fetal tissue by PP officials. In 2016,  USA Today  reported, "The grand jury in Harris County indicted David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt on a felony charge of tampering with a governmental record. Daleiden was also indicted on a misdemeanor charge of “prohibition of the purchase and sale of human organs,” Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson said in a statement.'"       Daleiden defended his videos in a statement that he gave USA Today.  "Six months after these revelations broke, Planned Parenthood still cannot deny that the shocking and indicting words on the videos were spoken by its own senior level leadership," he wrote. "Planned Parenthood cannot rebut the incriminating statements of its own leadership on these tapes, and so it has resorted to ...

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch Delivers His First Unanimous Court Opinion

Image
Screenshot: NBC News       On June 12, 2017, Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch delivered his first opinion of the court. In the unanimous decision of Henson v. Santander Consumer USA, Inc., the court ruled that Santander Consumer USA, Inc. does not fall under a federal law aimed at unscrupulous debt collectors. Santander Consumer USA, Inc. had bought defaulted car loans and sought to collect the money owed, in a report from  Fox News .       Gorsuch, nevertheless, grabbed attention by his beginning hook:           "Disruptive dinnertime calls, downright deceit, and more besides drew Congress’s eye to the debt collection industry,” he wrote.       In the opinion, he looked at who qualified as a debt collector:            "Everyone agrees that the term embraces the repo man—someone hired by a creditor to collect an outstanding debt. But wha...

New York Teen: "I Told that B**** to Get an Abortion"

Image
Father's Day is the celebration of honoring fathers, fatherhood, and the influence fathers make in society. It is a cheerful day where families have cookouts and spend time together. Unfortunately, that was not the case for 19-year-old father Shaquan Taylor of Brooklyn, New York. On Father's Day, Taylor beat his 16-month-old daughter Nylah Lewis into a coma. Police sources say Taylor messaged the mother around the time of the incident informing her "there was a problem and that she needed to pick up Nylah," and when Lewis arrived she saw her daughter sitting forward having a difficult time breathing; Taylor was able to catch up to Lewis when she left and knocked her out with one punch while holding their child. According to  New York Daily News , Nylah suffered "bleeding on the brain, multiple skull fractures and bruising on her face, legs and other parts of her body." She also needed a blood transfusion while being treated at the hospital.    ...

Mayor of Rome: "Temporary Halt on Immigration to Rome"

In the wake of President Trump's travel halt, the first female Mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi has called for a temporary halt on immigration to Rome. Raggi, a member of the Five Star Movement Party established in 2009, called for a "moratorium" on incoming immigrants. In a letter reportedly sent to the New Prefect of Rome, Paola Basilone, Raggi suggested, "I find it impossible, as well as risky, to think up further accommodation structures." Mayor Raggi made the request due to "the strong migrated presence [in Rome]...and the continued influx of foreign citizens." According to  thelocal.it , it is still not clear how long the temporary halt on immigration will last.      Figures released by the National Institute for Statistics in Italy state more than five million people in the country are foreign-born which is approximately 8.3 percent of the population (which has risen 6.2 percent since 2000). There is a steady flow of African and Middle E...

BREAKING NEWS: Handel Holds the 6th

Republican Karen Handel has won Georgia's Special Election for the 6th District for the House of Representatives. This is a big win for President Trump and Congress.      According to Fox News the Democrats and Ossoff lost the GA Special Election after spending over $20 million on Ossoff's campaign. CNN reports that this is "the most expensive US House race on record." Handel won 53% of the vote of the 6th District. In Handel's victory speech she thanked Rep. Scalise, "...right up until that tragic day on the ball field, Steve would drop me a text message every single week just to make sure I was okay and hanging tough. I think he even called me 'the Terminator' in one of them," she continued, "all we need to is also lift up this nation, so that we can find a more civil way to deal with our disagreements."      There is a continuous pattern. The Democrats spend millions and still lose. The 6th District of Georgia has been redrawn...

Solution to Ending Chicago Gun Violence: It Starts at Home

On June 20, 17-year-old Tiara Viramontes died at 5:24pm after being shot at 4:48am on Sunday in the Garfield Park area, officials stated. According to DNAInfo Chicago, Viramontes and a 30-year-old man were in the back of a building on the 3500 block of West Huron Street when several people fired shot at them, police said. She was hit in the back of her head and the older man was hit in his upper right leg. The autopsy showed she died from the gunshot wound that hit the back of her head and is indeed a homicide.      This is not breaking news because tons of people are shot in Chicago almost every day, and it is sad that the news like WGN Chicago feels the need to announce when the city goes at least 24 hours without any gun violence. I do not feel bad for her parents. What was she doing out at 4:48am with a 30-year-old man? Where were her parents?      See people, it is not the governments job to protect you or your kids. It is yo...

Tougher Immigration: When Will Democrats Learn?

On early   Sunday , 17-year-old Nabra Hassanen was headed to a mosque in Fairfax County, Virginia when she fell victim to an act of violence that resulted in her death. She was walking with a group of friends back to the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Center when the teenagers, according to police, noticed they were being followed. According to the police and the reports from NBC Washington, Darwin Martinez Torres, a 22-year-old from El Salvador, is responsible. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) filed a detainer against Torres   on Monday , meaning he has been living in the U.S. illegally. The mainstream media has reported it being anti-Muslim violence while other MSM reports suggest, along with the police, that Torres' actions were due to road rage.      Whichever it falls under, Torres’ act was disgusting, and he deserves to be punished. There is no excuse for his heinous attack; he must be deported back to...

We're Not Entitled to Anything

In today's society, the majority of millennials were, and still are, Bernie supporters. They love[d] the idea of universal healthcare, free college, taxing the 1% because of "income inequality," and to increase the living wage. All of these topics, just to name a few from his campaign platform, sound amazing... if you live in utopia.      I'm just going to be honest: if you believe that all of these utopian ideas were going to happen, you need a reality check. Millennials today feel SO SO SO entitled to everything. Why? ARE YOU OFFENDED AT THE FACT YOU NEED TO WORK HARD FOR WHAT YOU DESERVE? Honestly, people, this is ridiculous. No one is entitled to healthcare. Healthcare is a commodity. The doctors provide a service and therefore receive pay for that service. Doctors should not be forced to provide service because they do not HAVE to. Free college? Did anyone seriously think this was going to happen? Who's going to pay for it? Where is the mo...

SCOTUS: Hate Speech still Free Speech

Calling all leftist, and conservative snowflakes who bombarded the Julius Caesar play! Have you heard that hate speech is still free speech?! Today in a Supreme Court 8-0 ruling, they have stated that hate speech is still free speech. According to Ben Shapiro of the Daily Wire, "The case concerned the attempt to register a band called "The Slants" for trademark. The trademark office refused the trademark on the grounds that it was an offensive term for Asians."  The opinion of the case was broken into two parts. Justice Samuel Alito represents four justices, and Justice Anthony Kennedy represents the other four.       Justice Alito wrote:            "Speech that demeans on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, disability, or any other similar ground is hateful; but the proudest boast of our free speech jurisprudence is that we protect the freedom to express 'the thought we hate.'"      ...

This is Just the Beginning

Hi, everyone! This is my first blog post, let alone blog page in general so I will introduce myself first. I'm Alejandra, an Illinois native, and a current college student. I will be very straight forward here, so I am a conservative and not just that, but a Hispanic conservative woman. I believe in capitalism, limited government, and all the God-given freedoms that our founding fathers gave us in the constitution. Asking yourself why? Here's why: it is color blind. Capitalism is not race based, limited government is not race based, the second amendment is not race based. The Constitution of the United States is citizen-based, where every American citizen is created equal and has the opportunity to create their own future. We're going to jump right in so here it goes... Being an Illinois native, Fmr. Congressman Joe Walsh is one of my favorites so in his wise words, "We are not Republicans, we are not Conservatives. We are freedom fighters." This speaks so much ...
